"The Hand of Hope" Coffee Grounds Artwork (Small)
Small Limited Edition signed and numbered artwork by the Welsh artist Nathan Wyburn. The size of the print is 261.5mm X 195mm plus a plain border. There will only be 100 prints available. The print number you will receive, will depend upon the date of order.
Please be aware that the print will be delivered WITHOUT A MOUNT OR FRAME. It will be rolled carefully in white, colour-fast and acid-free tissue paper and posted in a eco cardboard postal tube. We would advise that you unroll the print for mounting and framing soon after receipt to prevent any permanent creasing. Rather than paying for a mount and frame that may not be to your taste, we have left you to make that decision!
This is a unique piece of artwork we commissioned in 2020, during COVID lockdown in Wales. The artist has used repurposed coffee grounds as his medium, that we at GFG had, collected from a number of local coffee houses. Together, we wanted to create a powerful and meaningful piece of art.
Nathan Wyburn is renowned for his creation of iconic celebrity portraits and pop culture imagery using non-traditional mediums. In response to this commission, he said ‘2020 was an incredibly difficult year for everyone. Isolation, loneliness and lack of human contact has impacted us all. None more so than those without a home. I felt the need to take part in this collaboration because I feel that art is powerful, art can depict a message that often words can’t. Hopefully, the prints and merchandise of this piece of coffee grounds art, can help raise some vital funds to help homelessness here in Wales’.
We were also fortunate to partner with two other giants of the art and printing world. The specialist paper we decided to use is called EXTRACT and is in a shade of Moon. Believe it or not, the paper has been made from recycled coffee cups that were previously destined for landfill. Produced in small batches by G F Smith who have been curating distinctive papers for the last 135 years. The work was printed by award winning, YouLovePrint (part of the PurePrint Group) who are a sustainable UK carbon neutral printing company.
As with most of our products, a proportion of our profits will go towards The Wallich, in our mission to try and end homelessness in Wales. The Wallich is a leading homelessness and rough sleeping charity across Wales.
Prints will be sent with a signed authentication certificate from the artist. So, by beautifying your home with GFG goods, you are helping another person to find their home.
